Kuriosity

The family AI that answers to your family — and no one else.

A warm, genuinely safe AI for the whole family — a guarded gateway between your kids and today's most capable AI models. Kids get a patient, fact-first tutor inspired by the gentleness of Mister Rogers. Parents get quiet oversight — care, not surveillance. Conversations are never mined, sold, or used for ads. And it's free for families, forever — paying unlocks more capability, never more safety.

🏠

Your family's space. Your rules.

Every family gets its own protected space — memories, identities, alerts, audit trail — fully isolated on Kreators Guild infrastructure. No data mining. No ads. Ever.

🧒

Built for kids first.

An age-appropriate persona that answers scary questions honestly, teaches one concept at a time, honors your family's values — and always points kids back to their own family.

🛡️

Parents in the loop.

Quiet alerts on what matters — self-harm, bullying, stranger contact, plus topics you choose to watch — reviewed privately in the parent portal.

What families get

Everything your family needs — nothing it doesn't

🔒

A private memory for every child

Each family member gets their own isolated memory space — nothing leaks to a sibling or anyone else's profile. Kids' messages auto-expire (30 days by default), so childhood questions don't follow them forever.

📋

Your values shape every answer

Guardians set the context — your faith, beliefs, traditions, and house rules like "be encouraging" — for the whole family, a role (kids, teens), or one specific child.

🔔

Watch flags & smart alerts

Built-in watches for serious concerns, plus custom ones ("body image," "online dating"). Alerts arrive privately with context, reason, and an excerpt.

🌐

Verified facts, not "AI facts"

Math runs as real code, teaching answers get a second-pass check, and facts are grounded in trusted sources — Khan Academy, NASA, Britannica — with SafeSearch always on. The same accuracy safeguards at every tier.

✏️

It will NOT do their homework

"Write my essay" becomes tutoring: guided steps, hints, worked examples on similar problems, and checking your kid's own attempt — never finished answers, no matter how they phrase it.

🏫

Explains it the way the teacher taught it

Teachers set up class profiles — current unit, methods ("box method, not the standard algorithm"), vocabulary — joined by parent-approved codes. Teachers see class-level insights, never transcripts without your okay.

💬

A chat space built just for kids

Kids talk to Kuriosity in its own kid-safe chat, with parent oversight built into every conversation. Guardians get alerts wherever they already are — no new app required.

🧑‍🏫

Ask the assistant about your kids

"What has Timmy been curious about this week?" — guardians get a synthesized, respectful summary, with every guardian action logged and audited.

Under the hood

Every message runs the safety gauntlet

Kuriosity is a safety layer that sits between your child and the AI model — it doesn't trust a single filter. Every conversation passes through a layered pipeline before and after the model ever responds.

  1. 1 🪪

    Identity & Scope

Who is talking? Child, teen, or guardian — each lands in their own isolated world with its own rules.

  2. 2 🚦

    Input Rails

Each message is classified: allow, gently rephrase, block — or quietly escalate to a parent.

  3. 3 ✂️

    PII Redaction

Phone numbers, emails, card & ID numbers stripped automatically before any text reaches the AI provider.

  4. 4 🧰

    Curated Tools

Facts are checked against trusted, approved sources for that person — kids' answers draw on the vetted allowlist.

  5. 5 🚥

    Output Rails

The answer is checked again before delivery. Flagged responses are filtered, never shown.

  6. 6 📜

    Memory & Audit

Curated facts go to that child's private memory; every turn leaves a reviewable audit trail.

Serious signals — self-harm, abuse, bullying, stranger contact — never get a robotic shutdown. The child gets a caring, honest response and a guardian gets a quiet alert.

🛡️ Protections, in plain terms

  • Three guard levels per space — full rails for kids, a hard safety floor for adult contexts, configurable per scope.
  • Honest answers to hard questions — bodies, death, fear: short, factual, age-appropriate, pointed back to a trusted adult.
  • Homework integrity, enforced — "give me the answers" is caught at the safety layer and redirected into tutoring.
  • Default watch list for every minor — self-harm, abuse, bullying, stranger contact, sex & drugs topics alert guardians.
  • Guardian actions are confirmed & audited — with role checks on every single request.
  • Your data stays put — only PII-stripped message text ever reaches the AI provider.

💬 How Kuriosity talks with kids

  • Modeled on proven mentors — built on the communication principles of Fred Rogers: warm, patient, never condescending.
  • One idea at a time — fact-first answers grounded in real science, sized for growing minds.
  • Feelings come first — fears and worries are named, validated, and met with honest reassurance.
  • Trusted adults stay central — hard questions point kids back to their own family.
  • Speaks with your family's voice — guardians share your faith, beliefs & values, and answers honor them.
  • Curiosity keeps going — every answer ends with a friendly question that invites the next one.

How is this different from ChatGPT or Alexa?

Big-cloud assistants are one-size-fits-all. Kuriosity flips the model: one family, one protected space, your governance — with child safety designed in, not bolted on.

  • Built by a nonprofit — kids are the mission, not the product
  • Free forever for families — paying unlocks more, never safer
  • Built only for families — not a chatbot with a "kid mode" bolted on
  • Per-child isolation — separate memories, personas & safety levels
  • Fully auditable — every turn traceable; PII stripped before anything leaves
🛡️ Safety is never a paid feature. Every tier — free or paid — gets the same guardrails, the same serious-incident alerts, and the same accuracy safeguards.

Questions, answered

Is Kuriosity available yet? +

Not publicly — it's in active development. We're opening access to a small group of select testers (families, teachers, and a few schools) to help us get safety and the experience right before a wider launch. Request early access below to be considered.

How is "free forever" sustainable? +

Schools, sponsors, and paid family tiers carry the costs, and fair-use caps keep the free tier affordable to give away. As a nonprofit, our books answer to the mission, not to investors. Safety and serious-incident alerts are never reduced on any tier.

Does paying make it safer or more accurate? +

No. Every tier — free or paid — gets the same guardrails, the same serious-incident alerts, and the same accuracy safeguards. Paid tiers buy capacity, capability, and configurability — never a safer or more correct experience.

Will it do my kid's homework? +

No — and that's enforced at the safety layer. "Do-it-for-me" requests are redirected into tutoring: guided steps, hints, and checking your kid's own attempt. It holds no matter how the request is phrased.

What about my family's data? +

Conversations are never mined, sold, or used for ads. Only PII-stripped message text reaches the AI provider; memories, alerts, and audit history stay in your family's isolated space. You can export or delete your data — never gated behind payment.

Who's behind it? +

Kreators Guild Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to STEM education for kids. Kuriosity is mission-priced, with no ad model and no investors monetizing children.
